Colin Cowherd Sends Tough Message To Russell Westbrook

Colin Cowherd has sent a tough message to Russell Westbrook after his poor play to start the season. The Lakers were able to pick up a victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers last night but it does not take away from the fact that they have been less than impressive to start the season. Their worst showing came against the Oklahoma City Thunder, one the worst, if not the worst, team in the NBA. Head coach Frank Vogel talked about the loss.

“Disappointing loss,” Vogel said. “We took our foot off the gas after that big first-quarter lead, which happens in the NBA. Usually, you can catch yourself and sustain it, but we weren’t able to do that.

“Ball stopped moving side-to-side. I got to do a better job of making sure that our guys are moving side to side and our focus, intensity, effort on the defensive end, that slipped as well,” Vogel said.

“Disappointing loss, but a lesson learned,” Vogel said. “NBA season is a long season and a lesson for our group that you can’t ever take your foot off the gas against anyone.”

Now, after the bad loss, a familiar foe has come out with some tough advice for Russell Westbrook.

“That’s like Jameis Winston lecturing people on bad interceptions,” Cowherd said, talking about the Westbrook ejection.

Pretty interesting stuff.

Laker legend James worthy also talked about the loss.

“You have to finish the job, regardless of who you’re playing,” he said. “You cannot disrespect the worst team in the league. In fact, you make sure you put them away and let them know that they don’t have a chance.

“And I think the Lakers came out with that mentality, but I don’t know what happened. They kind of just disrespected these young guys… I don’t know, I’ve seen a lot of Lakers losses and this might be like the worst loss I’ve seen.”

It is definitely true that the Lakers need to be better. Losing to one of the worst teams in the league should not be happening. Hopefully they can take care of this going forward.
