Clippers’ Paul George Reveals Why He Didn’t Attend On Kobe Bryant’s Memorial

Thousands of people attended Kobe Bryant’s memorial, but Los Angeles Clippers superstar Paul George decided to skip it. Legends talked about Bryant’s legacy and the impact he had on the game. They took their time and shared the best of all memories. We heard so many emotional stories. Let’s be honest, we hadn’t heard any of that before. Current and past NBA stars attended the service and praised the Black Mamba. Michael Jordan, Bill Russell, Tim Duncan, Shaquille O’Neal, Tony Parker, Pau Gasol, Manu Ginobili, LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Stephen Curry, James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Dwyane Wade, and many others were in attendance.

George decided to stay at home. His reason?

“I’m not good with that kind of stuff,” he said after the Clippers’ win. “So I didn’t go. But I watched every second of it on TV.”

George didn’t miss Vanessa’s emotional speech for her husband and Gigi, and he liked Shaq’s comic approach at the end. Vanessa delivered a strong speech. She is a strong woman, and LeBron James admired her strength. She stood there in front of thousands of fans and the entire nation. The grieving mom and wife talked about her happy life with Kobe and the cute girl.

“Again, it’s just remarkable,” George said. “His journey, his career, the people he touched — talk about the top A-list of A-list people at his memorial. Just his impact and he’s a Californian and Los Angeleno, a byproduct of him being here. Again, so many people said it, it’s on us to continue that legacy. I was definitely affected by it when it first happened. I was affected again today, watching it, again. It’s something that’s never gonna seem real. But the reality of it, it did happen. I’m forever moved by it and I think so many people are too.”

There’s an ongoing investigation into the crash. Vanessa filed a lawsuit against the helicopter company on the day of the memorial. She seeks responsibility in every aspect. Kobe and Gigi were traveling with seven other people. There was another girl of her age and the pilot. The investigation will reveal more details within the next few months.
