Report: Lakers Provide Worrisome Update on Austin Reaves Hamstring Injury

The Los Angeles Lakers are dealing with another challenge at the moment. They have lost half of their players to injuries and they have just added another player to their list. Austin Reaves ended up on the Lakers injury report due to a left hamstring strain. Just like Rajon Rondo. Reaves likes Rondo’s basketball skills and tries to pick his brain as much as possible. It’s interesting to note that both Reaves and Rondo deal with the same issue.

Reaves’ injury is a bit more complicated. The Lakers announced that he will be on the sidelines for at least two weeks. The medical staff will reevaluate him before he makes the court again.

This is a rather shocking update. Lakers head coach Frank Vogel said his injury was “minor,” adding that Reaves is day-to-day.

Austin Reaves, other players to recover from injury

The Lakers have a few players on their list of injured players. The team is plagued with injuries and the situation can easily get out of control. This means players should do their best to avoid additional injuries. LA can’t absorb more hits.

The Lakers are already without LeBron James, Kendrick Nunn, Talen Horton-Tucker, Trevor Ariza… Dwight Howard, Anthony Davis, DeAndre Jordan, and Carmelo Anthony are the only healthy players who are 6’4 or more. The team is really thin on wing-adjacent players. There’s another catch. Malik Monk is 23, and every other player under 28 is hurt. Vogel has a bunch of veterans on the floor right now. Is that even a problem? Absolutely not! The Lakers beat Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat with minimum effort last night.

Rondo was of great help in the win over the Hornets. Having him out leaves the team with Russell Westbrook as the only point guard. Rondo hasn’t provided consistent performance this season, but Vogel needs an offensive leader off the bench. Monk was incredible in the game against the Heat, finishing with 27 points.

LeBron was expected to miss a few weeks, but there’s an encouraging update on his condition. It looks like his injury is not that severe.
