LeBron James Emphasizes Need To Continue Building Better Habits Defensively

The Los Angeles Lakers have a 21-21 record at this point of the regular season. The team struggles to win games. Lakers players, including LeBron James, have considered building better habits to make things work for the team.

Head coach Frank Vogel emphasized the need to build better defense. His team is playing against the Denver Nuggets. LeBron knows that his team has to work on the defense and try to win more games. They have a two-day break to get ready for the big challenge.

“We want to continue to just work on our habits and obviously defensively is where we hang our hats and pretty much where we lost the game tonight was defense,” LeBron said. “It wasn’t there as it’s been over the last few weeks.

“We get an opportunity, we get a couple days in between, where we can get better and learn from it, learn how we can be better going forward. And then we play a team on Saturday that’s right there, we all in the same mix as far as seeding.”

LeBron James and his teammates will create better habits

Improving the defense is of utmost importance at the moment. LA has lost too many games this season and now is the perfect time to repair the damage.

“All the breakdowns of the Kings game,” Vogel said. “Giving up 70 points in the paint. You are not going to win if you do that. We called every single one of them out and all the ways that we can be better.”

Of course they can be better. The front office brought some great guys in the offseason and created a great group. LA looked really good early in the regular season. NBA players joined the team to win a championship. Unfortunately, they sustained too many injuries and also got COVID. Anthony Davis is still out due to a MCL sprain. LeBron missed time, too. Lakers players missed a lot of games and even Vogel was out due to COVID. Let’s see what happens later in the regular season.
