Anthony Davis Says He Got “Spoiled” After He Joined Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers made some big moves in the last few years. First, they got LeBron James. The four-time NBA champion joined the team on the very first day of his free agency. Jeanie Buss and Magic Johnson knew how to attract the best basketball player of all time. LeBron’s arrival in Los Angeles triggered an avalanche of changes. The franchise had to make a move. They had to make things easier for him. That’s how Anthony Davis joined the Lakers, and yes, he is a bit spoiled.

The big man sustained a lot of injuries during his time with the Lakers. Davis missed a lot of games due to an MCL strain this season. He is back now, and puts up great numbers each night.

Anthony Davis joined the Lakers to win

In his interview with Dan Woike from the Los Angeles Times, Davis talked about his role with the Lakers. He did admit that he got really spoiled after getting his first ring.

“I  just want to win. I’ve had seasons where I’ve lost a lot in New Orleans. And it weighed on me. And then I came here and I got spoiled with winning my first year,” AD said. “Second year, we go to the playoffs and I feel like we could’ve still been successful if I didn’t have the injury. And this year, everyone counted us out. Said we were old. The whole locker room, we’ve got guys who have chips on their shoulders.”

Davis will do his best to lead the team to a win. He really wants the Lakers to make the playoffs this time. Some NBA experts wouldn’t bet on Davis and his teammates.

“I want to win, especially in a place like this,” Davis said. “Bright lights, people counting you out, people saying whatever about me, about the team. Yes, we want to prove everybody wrong, but we want to do it for ourselves, for Melo [Carmelo Anthony], for Russ, for the guys who haven’t won.”

Davis wouldn’t stop here. He needs more than one ring, right? Davis is still young and has so much to offer.
