Lakers in Danger of Losing LeBron James, Per Insider

The Los Angeles Lakers brought LeBron James to the team for a reason. Jeanie Buss and Magic Johnson joined forces to sign the best basketball player of all time. Well, the Lakers may be in danger of losing LeBron for obvious reasons.

The four-time NBA champion wants to play with his oldest son Bronny. LeBron confirmed this decision every time reporters mentioned the topic. Bronny got the good genes and he really has a chance to join the NBA. Will LeBron be there to join his team?

King James enters free agency in 2023. The Lakers will have to upgrade their roster in the meantime. Their current record suggests that they will probably end up in the play-in tournament again. Lakers players don’t want that, but their game is not that sharp.

According to Brian Windhorst, LeBron may leave the Lakers and join the team that drafts his oldest son.

“LeBron likes L.A., he likes raising his family in L.A., and his post-career businesses are in L.A.,” Windhorst said. “But he’s made it very clear that he wants to play with his son. If that situation is available outside L.A., he’ll pursue it.”

Lakers can’t afford losing LeBron at this point

Bronny has the best coach in the world. Being LeBron James’ son sure means a thing. He got the good genes and NBA teams have shown great interest in his skills. LeBron has been watching his son this whole time, and he can already predict a bright future for him.

“Well, I mean, absolutely, absolutely and my son is putting in the work, and we don’t really talk [about it], we never talk about it, but his dream is to play in the NBA,” LeBron said during a December 6, 2021 press conference. “That’s what he hopes, to be in the NBA and play it at a high level, and he has my my support and my blueprint.

“So, obviously with health and a little bit of luck, that would be the ultimate thing for me to be on the same court as my son in this beautiful game, but it’s a long time, a long time that happens in between here and there. So, we just take every day and try to maximize each and every day as its own.”

Windhorst explained that Bronny may have a really good chance to join the Lakers just because he is LeBron’s son. The Lakers wouldn’t let LeBron go that easily.

Bronny may not be ready for the NBA at 19, but since he is LeBron James Jr., so he’ll get a chance. But what if Bronny is not ready for the NBA until he’s 20 or 21?” Windhorst added. “Can LeBron wait? The way he’s playing, it looks like he can. So if he moves, it’s more about Bronny than about getting one for the thumb.”
