There’s ‘Hope’ That LeBron James Will Return for Lakers in Next Few Days

The Los Angeles Lakers need every bit of talent on the football field. Anthony Davis missed a big chunk of the regular season due to his MCL strain. Players got COVID while others had to undergo a surgery to fix a health problem. LeBron James is missing time too, but the front office believes that he will return to floor sooner than expected.

It won’t happen in the upcoming game though. The team listed LeBron as doubtful for the game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Will they list him as probably for the next one?

LeBron James to return in the near future

Shams Charania from The Athletic reported that the Lakers hope that LeBron is back in the next few days.

“LeBron James is going to continue to manage that knee injury,” Charania reported. “He’s dealing with a level of irritation, I’m told. So, it will be a day-to-day treatment managing program that LeBron James is going to have. He’s expected to miss his fifth straight game tonight against the Clippers on the road.”

Lakers head coach Frank Vogel said that LeBron will stay at the sideline as long as his swelling is here. This injury happened at the wrong time. LA can’t afford another injury because their record is terrible. LeBron is doubtful at the moment but we have high hopes for his return.

“He’s officially listed as doubtful,” Charania said. “He’s going to continue to rehab over the next several days, continue to get treatment, and the hope is that he’s back in the next few days, if not the next few games.”

LeBron plays elite basketball despite his age. He is averaging 29.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game while shooting 52.2% from the field and 35.2 percent from beyond the arc.

The Lakers have entered the third stretch of the regular season. They have lost a lot of games so far. Maybe these losses will motivate players to do better than before. They have to do better than before. LeBron will return at one point. Maybe the Lakers really need their leader back to work like the perfect squad.
