Mac Jones Immediate Reaction to Patriots Re-Signing Trent Brown

The New England Patriots have a few big holes on their roster and head coach Bill Belichick made a move to replace some of the players who left the team in free agency. Several Patriots veterans entered free agency and some of them decided to stay with the team for another round. Mac Jones will be working with Trent Brown again and he is really excited about this opportunity. Ian Rapoport was the first to confirm the signing. According to his report, the Patriots offered Brown a two-year deal. The big man is back in the fold again.

Mac Jones to join forces with Trent Brown again

Brown, 28, entered the NFL as a seventh-round selection for the San Francisco 49ers in 2015. He played right tackle in the first two seasons and had a starting role, but the 49ers sent him to New England in 2018.

The Patriots placed him at left tackle and Brown was a starter again. He won a ring in his first season with the team. The then-Oakland Raiders liked what they saw in 2018 and offered Brown a four-year contract worth $66 million. He became the highest-paid offensive lineman in the NFL. Well, this wasn’t a good move and Brown took his talents back to New England. The Patriots trusted him enough to give him a starting role again. In his first game as a Patriot, Brown suffered a calf injury and missed a big chunk of the season. H

Brown returned in Week 10 and reminded everyone that he is the right player to fill up the right tackle position. He played in nine regular season games and also saw action in the wild-card loss to the Buffalo Bills. Brown was on the field for 47.3% of all offensive snaps. When healthy, he was on the field all the time.

The Patriots haven’t shared any details of Brown’s new deal with the team. However, seeing him back brings great relief to Patriots fans. Ted Karras and Shaq Mason are gone now and their departure was a big blow for the team. Well, Brown is back!
