Patriots Aggressive Plan to Find Mac Jones Another Weapon

The New England Patriots gave Mac Jones the keys to their offense and now they plan to give him new weapon. Bill Belichick used his 15th pick on Jones for a reason. The Alabama prospect wasn’t the top option in his group. However, Jones did much better than any prospects in the 2021 season. Belichick watched him on his Pro Day and it was a sealed deal. Jones got the job. The Patriots selected him and made him compete with Cam Newton. Guess who won the job.

Jones did a good job in his first season as a Patriot. He led the team to a seven-game winning streak. You don’t get to see this every day. Truth is, Jones would have done much better with stronger weapons.

The Patriots have a good reason to select new weapons for their quarterback.

Patriots QB Mac Jones to get new weapon in 2022

Mike Giardi from NFL Network reported that the Patriots will probably try to find receivers this offseason. Head coach Belichick can get them through several trade moves. Of course, he will also get a few players in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Who is the first player to join the Patriots? According to Giardi, the Patriots should place their hands on Chicago Bears free agent Allen Robinson and Carolina Panthers receiver Robby Anderson. These two could be lethal weapons on Belichick’s 2022 roster.

Patriots owner Robert Kraft told Belichick to get all the players he needs to win games. That’s exactly what Belichick did. He spent a lot of money in free agency and selected an excellent group of players.

What makes Robinson a good option for the team? He is 28 and age won’t be a problem right now. In 2021, Robinson had 38 receptions for 410 yards and a score. Anderson was is 28, too. He had 53 receptions for 519 yards and five scores. His stats are a little better than the stats Robinson had this past season. These two are excellent players but didn’t have the opportunity to play with great signal-callers.
