Frank Vogel Has Bold Response to Report of Lakers Firing

The Los Angeles Lakers seem to have made a decision on head coach Frank Vogel and this adds fuel to all the stories about his firing. The storied franchise put an end to another disappointing season. Lakers players finished their season with a win over the Denver Nuggets, but they sit outside the playoff picture. LeBron James and his teammates won’t even make the play-in tournament. This was a rather unexpected outcome because Rob Pelinka did his best to pack the 2021-22 roster with experienced veterans. It didn’t work. The Russell Westbrook experiment didn’t work either.

First, the Lakers waived Trevor Ariza. They got rid of him to make enough room for a younger player. Pelinka will have plenty of time to rebuild his roster. Firing his head coach was the next step.

Frank Vogel is fired despite winning a championship

Vogel had to play without his superstars for most of the season. He had to change the gameplan and use players he has never worked with. Let’s not forget that he had a situation with Westbrook. Yes, Vogel led the team to a championship in Orlando, but the last couple of seasons were awful.

Adrian Wojnarowski was among the first to report that the Lakers decided to get rid of Vogel. The fun part? They haven’t told him yet. Vogel provided a NSFW response after getting the question.

He received this question right after the win over the Nuggets. Vogel didn’t even try to address the information.

“I haven’t been told s***, and I’m going to enjoy tonight’s game … We’ll deal with tomorrow tomorrow,” he said.

The Lakers head coach will probably share his side of the story. He has to address the firing in the next couple of weeks. Let’s wait for the official statement first.

LA has to pick a replacement for their head coach. Vogel wasn’t that bad and the Lakers have to find a better option. There have been several potential scenarios and one of them includes a former Clippers head coach.
