Tom Brady Shares How His Family Found Out About His Decision

Tom Brady wanted to win again and he really wanted his family to support his decision. The former New England Patriots quarterback announced his decision right after the end of the 2021 NFL season. He took his time to rest and have fun with the family. Well, he is the GOAT and his place is not in the stands. His place is on the field.

Brady changed his mind and decided to sign another deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brady’s family was really concerned about his health. NFL quarterbacks receive a lot of hits. Gisele was really worried about his health. Brady wanted to give her a chance to chase her dreams. Gisele took care of the home. She didn’t have much time to plan her career.

“I decided to talk with my family and I said, ‘I think I wanna do this one more time if you guys will support that’,” Brady said in his interview with Complex. “And my wife was so supportive of it and she said, ‘Look, I want you to be happy. I want you to enjoy it and go out there and win.’ Ultimately, that’s why I came back, to win. There’s only one reason to play for me at this point in my career. And that’s to win.”

Tom Brady relied on his family during the decision making process

Brady had to play smart. He didn’t have much time and wanted to make things easier for the Buccaneers. NFL rules forced him to speed up the decision-making process.

“Eventually, I had to make a decision just because they were getting into free agency. Would I have preferred to wait in the end to make sure I was really, really sure? Yeah. But that wasn’t the way the NFL calendar works. So I spoke to [Jason Licht] right before free agency. And I spoke to [Bruce Arians]. And they’re like, as much as we’d love for you to give you time, we don’t have time.”
