Bill Belichick Is Trending For His Coaching Decisions

The New England Patriots have yet to name the next offensive coordinator. Josh McDaniels left the team to coach the Las Vegas Raiders. Bill Belichick first said he won’t have an offensive or defensive coordinator, but this didn’t stop people from talking about his coaching decisions. It seems like he was saving the spot for himself.

Patriots players had their OTAs opener and Belichick took his time to watch quarterback/wide receiver drills. Will Belichick call offensive plays? The media asked him about this and yes, his response was super awkward. Belichick is not someone who relies on titles. He just wants people to do their job.

Bill Belichick makes the right coaching decisions

Belichick didn’t say much, but the NFL world definitely talked about his extensive role with the team.

NFL experts made some interesting comments and fans will definitely agree with these remarks.

“Speaking to reporters, Patriots HC Bill Belichick declined to name an offensive player caller because there are no plays to be called right now,” tweeted PFF’s Ari Meirov. “’What plays are we calling? Minicamp plays? …. We’ll get to it when we get to it.'”

Belichick is the best head coach in NFL history. He can call plays and much more. Albert Breer believes that Belichick could call plays in 2022. He can see Belichick call offensive plays.

“So one thing I brought up in [The Monday Morning Quarterback] —the possibility Bill Belichick could be the offensive playcaller in New England,” said Breer. “I think it’s possible that’s the end result of the coaching shuffle. Not saying it’s likely, but … I wouldn’t rule it out.”

Mac Jones did a decent job with Josh McDaniels. Belichick would love to see him play at similar or better level in 2022. The Patriots need a strong quarterback option and this makes Jones a valuable player on the roster. He is not as experienced as Tom Brady, but he is on a good way to become a talented signal-caller.

“Bill Belichick spent most of practice with the offense, with this snapshot a good reflection of that. He was working with WRs on keeping their eyes up in this drill,” reported ESPN’s Mike Reiss.

“There was a lot happening with the offensive play calling,” tweeted Jeff Howe. “Bill Belichick called the final 11-on-11 period of the day. Matt Patricia called some plays earlier. Joe Judge was involved. They also appeared to run plays off a script for a couple periods.”

“Bill Belichick told us this morning they’re ‘months’ away from needing a play-caller,” said NBCS Boston’s Phil Perry. “He also told us he’s called plays and he hasn’t called plays. Belichick looked like a play-caller at times today with Mac Jones checking in with him between snaps of 11-on-11 work.”
