Former Laker Sends Message to Rob Pelinka on Proposed LeBron James Blockbuster

The Los Angeles Lakers are in a full re-building mode and NBA analysts have dropped several strong blockbuster trade options for the franchise. Some even said that general manager Rob Pelinka should send LeBron James away through a blockbuster trade.

Swapping LeBron for Kevin Durant? Does this make sense? The Los Angeles Lakers have been linked to several players and Kyrie Irving seemed like a top target. LeBron wanted him on his team again.

Well, Robert Horry believes the Lakers should trade LeBron for KD. According to him, LeBron is tradeable. He didn’t list the four-time NBA champion as an untradeable option in modern NBA.

“I think there’s only probably one dude in the league right now — or two dudes — I’d say two dudes that aren’t on the trading block,” Horry said on the “Big Shot Bob Pod.” “That’s Luka and Steph. Everybody else can be traded.”

There’s more. Horry advised Pelinka to consider trading LeBron for Durant.

“Hell yeah,” Horry said when asked if the Lakers would trade LeBron. “Let’s say I give you KD. … If you Rob Pelinka and someone says, ‘Okay, I’ll give you KD for LeBron,’ you have to do that trade.”

LeBron James, Lakers all-in for another blockbuster trade

The GOAT debate revolves around LeBron and Michael Jordan. No one mentioned Durant. Yes, he is one of the better players in the NBA, but Jeanie Buss would never give up on the king of basketball just to get KD. Yes, he is great player, but let’s not forget that Durant missed a huge portion due to his injury.

KD won’t really go to LA and LeBron won’t go to Brooklyn. Irving can go somewhere else though. His negotiations with the Nets haven’t moved a bit. Brooklyn may really trade him at this point.

“Kyrie has not asked for a trade,” a source told Brian Lewis of The New York Post. “Now, if the Nets don’t want him, that’s something totally different. Kyrie has not said he wants a trade. He opted in. [So where did] the trade conversations come from? Is it because, KD requested a trade and now everybody’s like let’s trade Ky? Kyrie opted in.”
