Bill Belichick Offers Strong Response to Lamar Jackson Question

The New England Patriots are coming off of a close win and now they have to get ready for the big game against the Baltimore Ravens. Head coach Bill Belichick will coach against an offense led by Lamar Jackson, and honestly, that’s quite a challenge for the brilliant head coach.

The Ravens trusted Jackson for a reason. He threw for 531 yards, six touchdowns, and one interceptions while rushing for 136 yards in the first two games of the season. It’s a good start of the regular season. Jackson earned the MVP award in 2019 and was named to the Pro Bowl twice. He was named an All-Pro once and has thrown for 10,500 yards so far. I mean, the guy is in his fifth NFL season and his game is crazy! Belichick knows this and has nothing but words of praise for the talented quarterback.

The Patriots beat the Steelers and now they have to beat Jackson’s offense. NFL reporters asked Belichick about Jackson and his passing ability. According to the head coach, Jackson is an “MVP type of candidate.”

“Without a doubt,” Belichick told reporters. “He’s the type of player that’s an MVP type of candidate. “I think he’s more than answered it. Wait and see what his contract is. That’ll answer it.”

Bill Belichick praises Lamar Jackson for a reason

Jackson visited the Patriots during his draft process. Belichick watched him play and it was a good visit. What’s the best part of the visit? Jackson saw Belichick smile. Belichick is a serious guy and Jackson was more than excited to see the big smile on his face. Jackson didn’t join the Patriots and Belichick got Sony Michel and Isaiah Wynn.

“I seen Belichick smile,” Jackson told reporters on Wednesday. “Usually, I see him and he’s [like straight-faced guy]. When I saw him smile, I was like ‘Dang, you’ve got humor.’ I told him that. He was like, ‘Yeah.’ I’m like, ‘I wasn’t expecting you to be smiling.’”

Jackson and Belichick will meet again on Sunday. Who will win this challenge?
