LeBron James Reveals Why He Never Took Part In The Dunk Contest

LeBron James accomplished a lot of things in his career, but he never really show interest in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest. Wonder why? Well, the king of basketball tried to make things clear for everyone.

“I don’t think it was something I wanted to accomplish in my career; it’s not a goal of mine and it never was coming into the NBA to be a part of the Dunk Contest, you know?” the four-time NBA champion told Bally Sports’ Brandon Robinson.

“Making the NBA All-Star Team was, being the league MVP, winning Defensive Player of the Year, winning NBA Championships…? THOSE were some goals of mine. The NBA Dunk Contest was NEVER a goal of mine so, it wasn’t something that I had too much passion for.”

LeBron didn’t need to prove anything in the dunk contest

LeBron made a really good point. He has done more than any other player in the NBA. Won four rings with three different teams and also got a NBA Finals MVP title with each of these teams. He is incredibly competitive and age has nothing on him. LeBron has defeated pretty much every team in the NBA and young players look up to him.

Sadly, some fans don’t agree with LeBron. They believe that he was just too scared to take part in the dunk contest. Why would he avoid this contest? We all know that he is the greatest basketball player of all time.

“He’s a liar,” a fan wrote. “He’s always been afraid to get exposed/clowned Here he is fake-promising to be in the 2010 Dunk Contest. When you fail & get swept in the finals, you & your fans can spin narrative to blame ‘bum’ teammates and GMs who ‘didn’t help.’ He ducked the smoke like a mf.”

He is not the only one. Another fan got really disrespectful and trashed LeBron’s performance. Yes, there are people who believe that Michael Jordan is the GOAT.

“Rookie MJ had no fear of failure. After taking over the league, he competed in and won the dunk contest,” tweeted Joseph Vincent.
