Rich Paul Explains Why Lakers Extended Anthony Davis Despite His Injury History

Klutch Sports’ Rich Paul secured a good contract extension for his client Anthony Davis and he knows the Los Angeles Lakers made a good move. Davis is one of the better players in the NBA when healthy and the Lakers had to keep him around.

The Lakers big man signed a three-year contract extension worth $186 million and will stay on Rob Pelinka’s roster through the 2027-28 NBA season.

There was a huge discussion about Davis’ extension. Some discussed the taxes he will have to pay after getting such a big deal. Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo was the first to mention this on Twitter.

Paul knows that Davis will deliver another monster performance with the Lakers

It was the biggest extension in league history and some analysts are worried about Davis’ history of injuries. Was this a risky move? AD missed many games in the last few seasons due to injuries. The Lakers lost many games in his absence. However, AD is unstoppable in his best days.

According to Paul, the Lakers made a good decision. Davis has an excellent work ethic and he did his best to lead his team to a win every time he hit the floor. He even played through an injury!

“They understand AD and his work ethic has shown,” Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul told Sportskeeda on Friday. “He has some injuries, but it wasn’t due to him not working. It’s not like he came into camp overweight or showed any laziness. There were just fluke things. That happens in the game.”

The Lakers brought most of their 2022-23 roster back, including D’Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, and a few others. LeBron James is here, too. Many believe that Davis’ extension will actually keep LeBron around in the next few seasons. They are great friends who happen to be represented by the same agency. LeBron brought AD to LA and he will definitely stay around and join forces with his buddy.

LA almost made the NBA Finals last season. Will they get to the title this time?
