Lakers’ Anthony Davis Roasts Great Teammate: ‘Won’t Be Playing in 4Q’

The Los Angeles Lakers seem to have had some chemistry issues a couple of seasons ago, but everything works well for the team right now. Newly signed players found their spot on the roster and chemistry is blooming. Teammates usually roast each other, and Anthony Davis didn’t spare one particular teammate.

The Lakers big man took a dig at Christian Wood during his convo with the media and fans interpreted this in so many different ways.

“C Wood was talking a lot of stuff, and they was beating the purple team like 14-3 in a five-minute scrimmage,” Davis said on October 17. “And we came back, won 38-34. C Wood missed some big free throws. … Foul him on purpose. Game plan stuff. We know who won’t be playing in the fourth quarter.”

It was an obvious joke. Davis has great words for his teammate and knows that Wood could help the Lakers at any level. He has skills and head coach Darvin Ham found the perfect spot for him.

Davis and his new teammate will join forces for the win

Wood didn’t hit his peak in the preseason, averaging 7.8 points and 4.4 rebounds while going 58.3% from the free throw line and 25% from beyond the arc. However, he was just warming up for the new environment. He made a few stops in the NBA and the Lakers may be the right team for him.

Head coach Ham heard some rumors about Wood and let’s just say he couldn’t care less. He is only interested in whatever Wood brings to the basketball court each and every night.

“I don’t know what happened in Dallas and that’s not my business,” Ham said, per Marc J. Spears of Andscape on October 13. “I know what he’s going to do for me and he’s done everything that I expected him to do up to this point since camp has been going on.”

The Lakers seem to have found what they need and fans are ready for the first game of the season!
