Rich Paul Drops Truth Bomb Why Older Players Were Jealous Of Young LeBron James

LeBron James was a star in high school and it was more than obvious that the kid from Akron will be an NBA star. LeBron was a star long before he joined the NBA and his agent, Rich Paul, claims older players were jealous of him.

LeBron joined the Cleveland Cavaliers as a first overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft. The world had already heard about him and LeBron had his SI cover.

It seems like that envy is still present. Paul talked about this in his interview with Shannon Sharpe and it all makes sense. LeBron enjoyed more privileges than any other basketball star and some people didn’t like any of that. His multimillion deal was actually a monster deal.

“It’s corny… $100 million contract, Jay-Z sending a private jet when he was in high school… That develops envy,” LeBron’s agent said on Club Shay Shay.

Paul, NBA players were well aware of LeBron and his dominance

The kid from Akron got the attention of pretty much every player back then. The Cavaliers used their first pick to get someone who had never played college basketball. It was a good move for the franchise as LeBron averaged 20.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.9 assists in 79 games. LeBron had a spot in the starting lineup and his great stats earned him the Rookie of the Year Award.

It’s been two decades now, and LeBron is still turning heads. He has entered his 21st NBA season and his game is still sharp. Haters still talk about him. Oh, yes, there are a bunch of people who still criticize him on a daily basis. LeBron doesn’t let them get under his skin and keeps doing what he knows best. He is the player who won four MVP awards, four titles, four NBA Finals MVP awards and made 19 All-Star games.

The four-time NBA champion doesn’t think of retiring at this point. Everything points to the fact that he will try to play with both his sons in the NBA. He is motivated to do this and winning a few more rings would be ideal for his team.
