Lakers Among Top Favorites To Trade For $215 Million Former All-Star

The Los Angeles Lakers have a 2-2 record at this point of the regular season. The front office built a nice roster last season and managed to keep it mostly intact. LeBron James and Anthony Davis lead the team once again and they are surrounded by top players. However, the Lakers could still pull out a trade move and get a former All-Star.

It would be interesting to note that he Lakers are one of top 10 potential suitors for Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine. Seeing him put on a Lakers uniform makes perfect sense.

The 28-year-old averages 24.5 points on 53.3% true shooting. He is also a career 38.3% shooter and shoots 29.4% from deep. If the Lakers show interest in LaVine, he could help them adjust the game plan. The talented guard is in the second year of his five-year deal with the Bulls.

LaVine could already be on his way out of Chicago. The team has had some trade talks with several teams, including the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers. Fun fact? LaVine is a Klutch Sports client and New Balance brand ambassador with Tyrese Maxey.

“The Bulls, we already know they’re kind of going nowhere,” Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix surmised on the “Dan Patrick Show” on October 31. “LaVine solves the problem of an extra scorer and a ball-handler.”

Lakers to lose two key players in the potential trade for the All-Star

If the Lakers manage to get LaVine, they will have to give up on Rui Hachimura, D’Angelo Russell, a 2028 first-round pick, and a 2030 first-round pick swap.

“One league source said the Bulls would be focused on getting a good young player, multiple first-round picks and salary filler if they decide to trade LaVine,” Johnson wrote on June 19. “Another said one first-round pick and an established, high-end player might be sufficiently intriguing.”

The Lakers offered Russell and Hachimura deals this summer. Russell is averaging 17.5 points, 7.3 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game. Hachimura averages 8.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in three games with the Lakers this season. Will the Bulls agree to take these two and some picks to trade LaVine to LA?
