Mac Jones Had Classy Message For JuJu Smith-Schuster After His Drop Vs Commanders

The New England Patriots added another loss to their chart and have a 2-7 record at this point of the regular season. It was a disappointing loss for the team and there are several major holes on the roster. Head coach Bill Belichick has to make big decisions and adjust the roster. Who is responsible for the losing record? Mac Jones? JuJu Smith-Schuster and other receivers? The Patriots need to elevate the game to improve their record and avoid an even bigger disaster. When it comes to Smith-Schuster and his performance on the football field, he dropped a pass from Jones.

Jones and JuJu Smith-Schuster have to do better

Smith-Schuster grabbed the ball, but it fell straight in the hands of Commanders defensive back Jartavius Martin. This could add fuel to the fire because Jones doesn’t seem to be too happy with the current receiving group. Jones didn’t criticize his teammate and said it’s always team work. All players are in this together and they all take responsibility for their actions. Fans and analysts tend to place the blame on one player or coach, but as Jones said, “we’re all in this together.”

“We’re good. I told him if you don’t make the play before that one, then we’re not there,” Jones said when asked about Smith-Schuster. “It’s football. A bang-bang play. It’s always like that in the NFL, right? It goes one way or the other. You make the play and maybe you go into overtime. And if you don’t, you don’t.

“It is what it is. I can do things better throughout the game to not even be in that position. Everyone wants to put one thing on one player, but we’re all in this together. That’s how we approach it.”

The Patriots had a rough first half of the season. Will they manage to win more games by the end of the year? Will the team fire their head coach? Will Jones sign with another team? NFL analysts keep asking questions, but we won’t get a response until the offseason.
