Patriots HC Bill Belichick Comments On Kayshon Boutte Provide Ray Of Hope

The New England Patriots may have Kayshon Boutte back on the field really soon and head coach Bill Belichick dropped a few comments about the rookie.

Patriots players and coaches are gearing up for the game against the Washington Commanders. Belichick discussed the practice his players had, adding that Boutte did a good job in practice this week. The rookie will have to step up with all the injuries Patriots deal with right now.

“I think this has probably been his best week, yeah,” Belichick told the media on Friday. Reporters wanted to know more about Boutte’s readiness to see more action in Week 9. Let’s not forget that DeVante Parker and Kendrick Bourne suffered injuries in the loss to the Miami Dolphins.

Belichick watched Boutte perform at a high level on the practice field and he likes his potential. The Patriots head coach even claims this was his best week in practice so far.

“His best week in practice,” Belichick said. Players have to give their best every time they hit the field. Practice? Yes! A regular-season game? Absolutely!

Belichick has special requirements for all players. That’s what makes him the GOAT among all coaches.

“Performance, consistency, assignments, production – practice is practice, but there are opportunities out there for everybody,” Belichick said when asked about the things he expects to see on the floor each game. “You either take advantage of them or don’t take advantage of them.”

Boutte was a healthy scratch for the Patriots until now.

Belichick praises Boutte, Tyquan Thornton

Thornton played just 28 offensive snaps until now. He missed five weeks due to an injury and was a healthy scratch in Week 8.

“He missed some time, but he did all he could do, got back as quick as he could,” Belichick said. “He’s been out there and is trying to take advantage of his opportunities, too. So, none of the issues with their work ethic, their preparation, or what they’ve tried to do on the practice field. We’ll see how it translates on Sunday.”
