Tone-Deaf LeBron James Take After Clippers Win Got Kendrick Perkins Roasted

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Clippers in a 130-125 overtime win. The team hadn’t won a game from December 2020 to April this year, and now they added yet another win. How impressive is that? LeBron delivers a MVP performance again and he doesn’t pay much attention to his minutes on the floor. Instead of doing 29, he plays an average of 37.2 minutes per game this season. LeBron earned words of praise following the game, as usual, but Kendrick Perkins made a few comments that caused a stir on social media.

The former NBA player shocked the world of basketball with his take on LeBron. Some would say it was… tone-deaf. Heartless, maybe?

LeBron is 38 and will turn 39 in December. Age never impacted his game and he can easily have a few more solid seasons in the league. So, what did Perkins say that shocked fans?

“When your son and your child goes through something like Bronny [James] did, all of a sudden that impacts you,” said Perkins on ESPN’s NBA Today. “I see LeBron playing with a different passion and a different purpose. …Is [LeBron] gonna be able to sustain [extended minutes for the Lakers]? Yes.”

Fans criticize Perkins for his LeBron comment

Making this comment wasn’t really necessary. LeBron’s oldest son suffered a cardiac arrest during an USC basketball practice. He will return to the basketball court again, but it was a scary experience for the young kid and the family. He feels and looks great and LeBron still hopes to share the floor with him and Bryce Maximus, of course.

Fans can’t stop talking about this and almost everyone criticized Perkins for his take. Their comments may lead to an apology from Perkins, but the damage is already done. We believe LeBron and Savannah weren’t really happy to hear him speak like this.

When it comes to LeBron, he will continue giving his best shot every night. He always does.
