Lakers $82 Million Trade Target Preferred Landing Destination Revealed

The Los Angeles Lakers had a good team heading into the new season. Head coach Darvin Ham likes his group, but NBA analysts believe that the Lakers could add a few more players. The Lakers may have at least one trade target at the moment. They have been liked to multiple players and all of them are currently playing on the Chicago Bulls roster.

DeMar DeRozan almost signed with the Lakers in 2021. However, the Lakers front office decided to get Russell Westbrook. Is he willing to become a Laker if Rob Pelinka does an effort to get him? Sam Amick from The Athletic discussed this option.

“DeRozan … is considered very likely to be on the move before the deadline passes,” Amick wrote on December 1. “When it comes to possible destinations, the Heat and Knicks are known to be preferable to DeRozan if he winds up getting moved.”

Lakers may go after more than one trade target

We don’t know if the Lakers really want DeRozan. He is 34 and prone to injuries. He got out of the last game due to a sprained ankle. DeRozan is an excellent player, but the Bulls don’t really talk about his potential extension.

“The sides are apart right now on multiple fronts,” Shams Charania from The Athletic said on FanDuel TV’s “Run It Back” on October 26. “Also DeMar DeRozan wants to see where this Bulls team goes.”

Several analysts discussed DeRozan’s situation with the Bulls and the Lakers’ preferences at the moment.

“In conversations I’ve had in recent weeks regarding the Bulls, there is real interest in Zach LaVine. But I think it comes at the right price,” Jovan Buha from The Athletic said on the “Hoops Tonight” podcast on November 28. “I’ve actually heard that they’re more interested in DeMar DeRozan and Alex Caruso.”

The Lakers can win games with this current team, but there’s always room for improvement. Who will be the first player to join the purple and gold?
