NBA Icon Magic Johnson Reacts To Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Scary Fall
Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar made a lot of great memories together. They went through a lot of challenges in the past and never miss a chance to compliment one another.
Abdul-Jabbar shocked the NBA world with the most recent news. The NBA icon fell and broke his hip at a concert Friday night. He was admitted to a hospital and got a great treatment. The Los Angeles Fire Department had to get involved, too.
Abdul-Jabbar’s injury wasn’t that simple as it required a surgery. His representative, Deborah Morales, confirmed the update.
Current and former NBA players delivered messages of support for the legendary player. Former Lakers player Magic Johnson took to his X account to send his wishes.
“I’m wishing my Showtime teammate Kareem Abdul-Jabbar a speedy recovery after falling and breaking his hip! Praying for the Captain!” Johnson posted to X.
Johnson and Abdul-Jabbar made history together
NBA fans still remember all the games Johnson and Abdul-Jabbar won back in the days. They played on the same team from 1979-1090. These two won five titles to Los Angeles in the 1980s. In other words, they set up the foundation for the Lakers dynasty.
Johnson and Abdul-Jabbar have won five NBA Finals MVPs, nine NBA MVP awards, and 31 All-Star appearances together. They made the NBA’s 50th and 75th anniversary all-time teams. There’s more. The Lakers retired their numbers.
Abdul-Jabbar was a star and 3x NCAA champion at UCLA before his career in the NBA. Johnson was an NCAA champion at Michigan State. It’s interesting to note that both Johnson and Abdul-Jabbar were No.1 overall picks.
Abdul-Jabbar held the record for the most career games played and most points scored before LeBron broke his record in the 2022-23 NBA season. The four-time NBA champion is determined to make each and every milestone legends have accomplished in their career.
