Bill Belichick Longtime Right-Hand Man Gets College Football Job

The New England Patriots are rebuilding their entire team. First, they cut ties with legendary Bill Belichick and then released some of his favorite players. There’s more. Berj Najarian, former director of football/head coach administration for the Patriots, will be part of Boston College’s staff next season. Could Belichick do the same and join college football? Let’s not forget that he has yet to find a job.

ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported that Najarian agreed to join Boston College as their chief of staff. He is joining forces with former Patriots offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien. This is a good thing for Boston College. O’Brien left the Patriots organization and so did Najarian.

Adam Schefter from ESPN offered his take on Najarian’s hiring. According to him, Najarian was the “man who was at Bill Belichick’s side during all his years in New England.”

Belichick and Najarian worked really well over the years. The former Patriots head coach has nothing but respect for his right-hand man. He even said Najarian was “the consigliere of the New England Patriots.”

Belichick has yet to be linked to college football

Similar to Belichick, Najarian was part of the Patriots organization for 24 years. He left the team at the same time as Coach B and this made fans ask questions. He is not going that far though as he is staying in Boston.

Boston College gets to work with the best of the best. They hired some of the best names from the NFL. Najarian and O’Brien could do wonders together and expectations go really high with this one. Analysts have high expectations from Boston College and maybe they will reach their full potential now.

O’Brien got a new job and Najarian joined him. Where will Belichick go next? Will he stay in the NFL? Will he retire? Fans ask a lot of question these days, but Belichick stays pretty quiet. As usual. He is up to something, that’s for sure.
