Report: Rob Gronkowski’s Status For The Game In Week 12 Vs. Jets Revealed

Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is ready to hit the field. Gronk missed three of the past four games due to his back and ankle injury. However, ESPN’s Adam Schefter confirmed that the tight end is expected to suit up in next Sunday against the Jets.

Gronkowski missed two straight games and three of New England’s last four matchups.

“After missing three of the past four games with a lingering back injury, Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is expected to be able to play in New England’s next game after Sunday’s bye against the New York Jets, per sources. More on ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown,” Shefter reported.

The Patriots desperately need Gronk back to the field. Quarterback Tom Brady needs him because he really struggled without his All-Pro tight end. The Patriots’ offense looked out of sorts for most of the season, and Brady was not really able to find receivers without Gronkowski on the field.

The 29-year-old tight end has 29 catches for 448 yards in the seven games he played this season. He has just one touchdown in the Week 1 win over the Houston Texans.

“First of all, Gronk is a great player. And Gronk is extremely tough and hard working. I know he’s working hard at his rehabilitation. We’re all hoping that when he comes back, he’s the same player he always is. When he comes back, that’s really up to the trainers to decide. In the meantime, what we can do for the players out on the field who are trying to play better and earn these victories is do a better job in our areas and focus on what we need to. When I think about myself, I think about how I need to play and what things I need to improve to give our team a better chance to win. And as we get guys healthy here over the next six weeks up until the end of the season … obviously, having good players out there helps a team. The better players you have, the better the team is going to be,” Brady said of Gronk.
