Anthony Davis to Demand Immediate Lakers Trade, LeBron James Major Concern

Anthony Davis should push towards a trade to the Los Angeles Lakers because of the Kevin Durant and Kawhi Leonard rumors. These two have big chance of joining the Lakers, and that does not work for Davis.

ESPN’s Adam A. Smith said that the Lakers may be in a serious trouble if the Clippers sign Durant and Leonard. This week’s reports suggest that the Clippers are getting ready to hit the free agency and sign Durant and Leonard. Both stars have chances of leaving their teams in 2019 for free with both teams linked. The Clippers are great this year without any superstar on their team.

Jerry West and the front office fixed the cap space to make room for another couple of max salary players next season.

If Leonard and Durant sign with the Clippers, the team will become title contenders, and that does not really work with LeBron’s hopes to add a fourth title to his resume.

Smith said that trading for Davis will ease the concerns if the Clippers sign Durant and Leonard.

The reporter suggested that the Lakers are probably looking for a trade at the moment.

“LeBron James is under no obligation to win a championship this year. It’s to get the Lakers to the playoffs and be competitive in the playoffs. I think they’re going to the Western Conference Finals, that would be a victory for the season, but we all know the Golden State Warriors are the favourites for the NBA championship. But after this year, you’ve got to get somebody in free agency. Kevin Durant’s going to be a free agent, Kyrie Irving, Kawhi Leonard and Anthony Davis signed with Klutch Sports under Rich Paul. Presumably he wants to be in L.A.”

“I even have some people saying he should demand a trade now to try to facilitate his arrival in Los Angeles with LeBron James. You are Magic Johnson and you’ve got to get one of those players and if you don’t get one of those players and the Clippers end up getting up Durant and Kawhi Leonard… the only thing I would compare it to is Jerry West stealing Shaquille O’Neal from the Orlando Magic like a thief in the night.”

“The fact that the Clippers are creating enough cap space to pursue two max players, combine that with what Durant had to say about LeBron in terms of playing with him and how a star wouldn’t necessarily want to play with LeBron James or it’s not to their advantage. If you are the Los Angeles Lakers and the Clippers pulled that off, you’re only hope is to get an Anthony Davis.”
