Report: Patriots Welcome Veteran Defensive Tackle To Future Contract

Head coach Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots are already thinking of the next season. this time the organization has put its hands on a veteran defensive tackle.

The Patriots welcome defensive tackle David Parry to a future contract. Of course, the 2015 fifth-round pick will not be able to play for the team in the postseason, and he will not be added to the Patriots’ roster until March.

Parry was drafted by the Colts and spent some of his career playing with the New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings. The defensive tackle has 83 tackles and five sacks in his four seasons in the league.

But, Parry has a history with the police

In 2017, the veteran was arrested and charged with felony robbery, felony unlawful use of transportation and misdemeanor threats. Parry actually stole and crashed a golf card. The player pleaded down to disorderly conduct and actually did attempt unlawful means of transportation and was able to avoid jail sentence.

On Feb. 28, Parry was, “visibly impaired, resisted arrest and used misogynistic and homophobic slurs, according to police who arrested him,” as reported by sources.

However, this has nothing to do with Parry’s professional career. The Patriots always plays smart with the new players. They added Josh Gordon despite his shady past, and he played really well during his time with the team. Belichick sure knows what he is doing. They trusted Gordon, and he did a good job before being suspended.

New England has two other defensive tackles signed through the 2019 season. The team saw potential in Lawrence Guy and Adam Butler. Malcolm Brown and Danny Shelton will hit free agency in the offseason.

Let’s see if New England is right about their choice. Parry will have enough time to get used to the Patriots regimen.
