Tom Brady Spends Special Time With Throwing Coach During Bye

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady worked on his mechanics during the bye week as reported by ESPN’s Mike Reiss. Brady worked with his throwing coach Tom House.

Brady said he spent time with his throwing coach during his appearance on WEEI’s Mut and Callahan. The quarterback is just polishing his tricks and skills before Sunday’s game.

“I have worked with Tom for awhile. I really enjoy my time with him. I had some extra time and thought it would be a good thing to do. Tom is always receptive and it is just great reviewing things and talking about techniques, fundamentals. I think those things are so important for football players, certainly quarterbacks. Football is always about technique and fundamentals and the more sound you are — in the bigger games you need to be as sound as possible,” Brady said.

“It was great having the extra time and taking some time to really dedicate it to that without thinking about plays and scheme because that is what happens this week. We start talking about, not certainly fundamentals and mechanics, but you start talking about schemes and plays and reads and so forth. It was just good to spend a little extra time doing that.”

The quarterback and the coach have worked together for quite some time since Tom Martinez’s death in 2012.

“I have done it quite a few times. I don’t know if it is every year, but it is something I always think about. I am always trying to be really sharp with my technique and fundamentals. Again, I just love spending the time doing it,” Brady said of his work with House.

Brady’s mechanics have been criticized in the past few weeks, and we all noticed that he struggled on the field. But, things changed in the regular season finale.
