LeBron James Warned Over Lakers Signing Top Free Agent – ‘He is a liability’

LeBron James is heavily involved in the Lakers scheme, and he will not let them make a mistake. The king of basketball knows pretty much everything about the game, and he has something to say about the team’s efforts to sign a free agent this summer.

According to LeBron, signing Kyrie Irving is not a smart move. Irving will become a free agent, and several teams have expressed their interest in his talent. That’s how Cris Carter views things. He said that Irving is too much of a “liability on the defensive end” for LA.

The Lakers signed LeBron last summer, and it was the biggest deal they have sealed in the past few years. But, he is not enough. LA is going after another big player, and they have several targets on their list. LeBron suffered a terrible injury on Christmas Day, and the team is now outside the playoffs. They will go after Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, Klay Thompson and Jimmy Butler. Magic Johnson may even reopen the negotiations over Anthony Davis.

Irving is not the best free agent on the market

“Even though they have a certain amount of chemistry, the reason I wouldn’t select Kyrie is because he’s also the one most injury prone and he’s the worst defender on that list,” Carter said on First Things First.

“As far as free agency with LeBron, LeBron’s not playing a whole bunch of defence. I can’t bring in another non-defender into that mix if they’re trying to win championships. I don’t think Golden State’s going to be the type of team that they are now, but at some point in the playoffs defence becomes important.

“I’d probably stay away from Kyrie. I believe he’s going to miss more games than those other players. LeBron’s getting older, so you need a guy who’s going to be in the line-up. And I can’t have a guy that’s a liability on the defensive end.”
