LeBron James: Kevin Durant And Kyrie Irving Will Join Lakers For One Reason

There’s still a chance that Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving make their way to Los Angeles in order to join LeBron James.

That’s what Fox Sports analyst Skip Bayless said. He said Durant and Irving may be interested in helping LeBron win another championship.

The Lakers front office will try extra hard to do something great this summer. This year was terrible, and they will want to forget the terrible season.

LeBron will miss the playoffs for the first time since 2005.

Magic Johnson traded away Luol Deng at the beginning of the season and got enough cap space for another max salary slot this summer.

Bayless is convinced that these two players will want to form a superteam.

“There are two players out there who like to go against the grain, who like to shock the world, who like to go against what social media is telling them to do,” Bayless said. “That is KD and Kyrie. They might just say, on a whim on July 1, ‘you know, let’s go help LeBron win another championship’. KD’s got two houses here, I don’t know if Kyrie has one here… Would that be enough? Yes it would be enough. That’s fire power. Plus it’s addition by subtraction because you’ve got KD out of Golden State. Kevin Durant did say a couple months back, it’s ‘toxic’ around LeBron because of those fan boys in the media who over protect him and you have to live with that day-in and day-out. Would KD subject himself? He doesn’t care, that doesn’t bother him. Yeah, he would do it but would anybody else?”

Stephen A. Smith believes that LeBron should go with Durant.

“If I’m LeBron James and I had to pick anybody out there: Klay, Kawhi, Kemba, Kyrie… it don’t matter,” he said on First Take. “The number one guy you want is KD for a multitude of reasons.

“Number one, the offensive arsenal that Kevin Durant brings to the equation, particularly as a perimeter shooter. It’s incredibly complimentary to the skillsets of the playmaker that is LeBron James. Number two, his length, his athleticism, his willingness to defend certainly upgrade you in the regard – those are basketball reasons. Here’s the other reasons that are not such a given to other people. Kevin Durant is probably about to tie LeBron James for championships… If you’re LeBron, you may not want him to pass you. Not only that, you want to prevent Kevin Durant going to the Clippers. Because if Kevin Durant goes to the Clippers, particularly if he is joined by Kawhi Leonard, not only will the Lakers not win a championship in the LeBron James era, but the Lakers won’t even be the story in the LeBron James era.”
