LeBron Responds To Criticism, Makes Championship Prediction For Lakers

LeBron James was constantly targeted by haters, especially those who said he’d fail in his debut season with the Los Angeles Lakers. LeBron did fail to bring the team to the playoffs, but it wasn’t his fault. There were too many injuries and problems, and LeBron couldn’t do it on his own. That criticism was the best thing that has ever happened in his life, and he sees it as a motivation.

LeBron is really confident that his team will turn into a championship winning squad next season. The Lakers are officially outside the playoff picture, and that comes as a relief to many. It was more than obvious that the team isn’t going anywhere. In this way they will only have more time to rest and get ready for the next season.

LeBron talked to Spectrum Sportsnet about the team’s chances next season, and used the opportunity to say that he didn’t come to town to have fun in LA. He came to win.

“I wouldn’t have come here if I didn’t believe this franchise was all about winning,” he said. “That’s what this franchise is all about. Some things that are known don’t need to be said. I believe Jeanie [Buss], Linda [Rambis], Magic [Johnson] and Rob [Pelinka], and everybody who has anything to do with this organisation, this is what it’s about.

“It’s absolutely fair that our fans feel the way they feel. We’re either competing for a championship, or we’re winning a championship, and I love that. That’s why I’m here. I want to add to these trophies here, and I want to add to the banners that are up in Staples Center.”

The Lakers had a terrible season and the loss to the Brookly Nets put them outside the playoff race. LeBron’s season ended on Christmas Day as his groin injury was too much to handle. He was outside the floor for 17 games and he came back to play in pain. Even his personal trainer talked about it. LeBron should have sat out the remainder of the season. Well, that’s a thing of the past, and LeBron promised some great things for the next season.
