Dont’a Hightower Fired Up Fans After Reported Jamie Collins-Patriots Reunion

The New England Patriots are playing really smart with their decision to bring in familiar faces. Linebacker Jamie Collins has already reached an agreement with the team, and the Patriots are now trying to empty a spot on the 90-man roster. The Cleveland Browns cut Collins in March, and Dont’a Hightower was the first to express his excitement.

He did it again after the team signed Collins. Again.

The Patriots drafted Collins in 2013, and he had some great time in Foxboro. His 2018 season with the Browns was really great. But he is back with the Patriots, and Hightower knew how to respond to Collins’ new deal with the Pats.

When it comes to Hightower, 2018 was great for him too. He put out some really good numbers, and head coach Bill Belichick had nothing but words of praise for him.

“That means a lot,” Hightower said in January. “Like you said, my time on the field hasn’t always been as much as I wanted it to be, but this year it’s meant a lot to me. I’ve been out there, I’ve been able to play, I’ve been able to be with my teammates from OTAs to minicamp, so I’ve enjoyed it.”

Hightower was well aware of the fact that his season goes in the right direction.

“I feel like we are taking the right strides,” he said. “I feel like each week and we prepare the best way that we can. Most of the time we come out with a good game plan and we come in with corrections to make on the sideline, so hopefully we continue do that and get better at those adjustments on the sidelines. I feel like I am getting better each week and I hope to keep continuing to do that. I still missed a couple of days, a couple missed assignments, or whatever. I am just going to keep continuing to stride to be better each week.”

He was right about this. The Patriots won the Super Bowl, and got another Lombardi Trophy in the Brady-Belichick era. Will they go for the next one?
