Browns’ Quarterback Baker Mayfield Releases Bold Statement About Tom Brady

It’s always good to see the young NFL players give credit when it’s due. Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield had nothing but praise when asked about the New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

On Wednesday, Mayfield was asked about his time spent with Brady. Tucker Boynton of Barstool Sports shared Mayfield’s response on Twitter.

Mayfield called Brady the “greatest of all time” and noted the six-time Super Bowl champion sets one of the “better examples of how to go through life.”

“Just being around the greatest of all time, it’s just an honor to be around him,” Mayfield said. “And then how he is with his teammates, the guys he’s played with, how they speak so highly of him. You don’t really talk about football in those situations, but how he treats everybody, how he handles himself. I think it’s just some of the better examples on how to go through life. He does it all right.”

Mayfield has been rubbing shoulder with some NFL royalty over the course of the offseason. The 24-year-old Browns quarterback not only had a playful interaction with Tom Brady during the NFL 100 Super Bowl commercial, but also was spotted hanging out with him at the Kentucky Derby earlier this month.

“To be able to be a part of a commercial with legends like that and actually be next to Tom Brady, no matter what you think about it, that’s the greatest of all time,” Mayfield stated earlier this offseason. “So to be able to actually hold those rings — and they are heavy, those were the real rings, they are heavy — it’s something fun. Getting to talk to him a little bit and just get to know him … his presence is something that you feel as soon as he walks into a room. That’s the kind of stuff you admire and I want to have when I finish playing.”

Mayfield obviously has set his priorities on the right side. Following the example of the greatest player ever to suit up at the position, there is a bright future ahead of the young quarterback in the NFL.
