LeBron James Teaming Up With Top American Retail Company To Feed The Hungry

Lakers star LeBron James will join forces with Walmart to fight hunger and feed the hungry. This move will inspire and hopefully initiate a positive change in Akron and the country in general.

LeBron was given a major role in Walmart’s “Fight Hunger Spark Change” campaign. It’s designed to raise money through donations and the purchase of participating products at Walmart. The retailer will fill the pantry at LeBron’s I Promise School with food, toiletries, clothing and other basic items.

These products will be available to the students who go to LeBron’s school and their families.

“What we hope to accomplish together with LeBron is to magnify each other’s efforts. We would love to help this model that he’s creating lead to a situation where it could help even more people,” Walmart CEO Doug McMillon said in a video announcing the partnership.

The huge campaign has raised $74 million which provides 749 million meals. Will LeBron help the company reach one billion meals? Of course!

“It’s an honor and a privilege for me in my community and what I’m doing here to partner with such a heavy hitter in Walmart,” the Lakers star said in the video.

LeBron and Walmart will support each other’s education programs. LeBron will be featured in Walmart’s Back to School campaign this summer.

“Growing up in Akron, the whole city supported my dreams, supported my friends’ dreams. Gave us shelter. Gave us food. We always felt like we had that support. Partnering with Walmart is about the commitment to the community,” LeBron added.

This campaign will raise awareness for one of the greatest problem in the country. For every product that’s purchased at Walmar, the company will provide a meal through Feeding America. LeBron will curate a collection that will go online to highlight some of the items included in the program.

This is a really big move, and it will bring help to many families struggling with hunger. It’s sad how some people don’t have enough food to go through the day. Kids don’t have anything to eat, and that’s what hit LeBron the most. This is a great campaign!
