Look: Bill Belichick Rocks Epic Hat During OTA Session

The New England Patriots are all-in when it comes to supporting Boston sports. They have all the support in this world for the Bruins as the team is getting ready to take on the St. Louis Blues on Monday for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final. On Thursday, during the very first organized team activity that was available to media members, the Patriots delivered a special message that they are supporting the Bruins. Players and coaches were wearing a Bruins hats. Head coach Bill Belichick wore an mint Eastern Conference Champions hat.

The head coach talked to media members and expressed his full support for the Bruins.

“Obviously, want to wish the Bruins well in their Stanley Cup Final, proud of what they’re doing and wish them the very best in this next series,” he said. “I know they’ve played great but this will be a great opportunity for them and we’ll be here cheering them on.

“We’re behind them so we hope they do well and we’re behind the Red Sox, behind the Celtics, behind the Bruins. So we’re behind everybody and they’ve been behind us so it’s been great.”

Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy admitted that he’s reached out to every coach in other sports in town.

“I’m going to keep that in-house, but I’ve spoke to both the football team and the baseball team, and I’ve had some conversations with the basketball team so I’ll let you figure it out from there,” Cassidy said. “I don’t want to get into all of our conversations, because that’s private. But they’ve been very good to share whatever they can — very supportive and it’s been great for me.

“Listen, we practice different than a football team. They’re typically used to having a week off — long stretches. They have a long window of preparation. For us, it’s a little different. At the end of the day, there’s a mental side to it that I think is important. How to keep players on their toes, don’t let their mind drift and get their focus back. I think that was more the discussion than anything.”

When asked about his convo with Belichick, he said, “I’ve gotta tell you — terrific guy. Very insightful, and it was great. I really appreciate it.”
