Photo: LeBron James’ Court Built On The Set Of ‘Space Jam 2’

LeBron James and several NBA and WNBA stars will be part of the set of Space Jam 2 this summer. The movie will be released on July 16, 2021. LeBron will be joined by Damian Lillard, Anthony Davis, Klay Thompson and Diana Taurasi. King James will have the Michael Jordan’s role. Jordan had a “Jordan Dome” built on set, and he played basketball in between shooting. Yes, LeBron will have a full-length basketball court, too.

ESPN’s Nick DePaula shared a photo of the court that LeBron and others will use during the filming. It has LeBron’s logo on it. This didn’t come as a surprise to you, right?

“The Space Jam 2 workout court for players is set up at NBA superfan Jimmy Goldstein’s house in LA, featuring LeBron James’ logo,” DePaula tweeted.

Well, we sure like this basketball.

“The Space Jam collaboration is so much more than just me and the Looney Tunes getting together and doing this movie,” LeBron said in one of his recent interviews. “It’s so much bigger. I’d just love for kids to understand how empowered they can feel and how empowered they can be if they don’t just give up on their dreams.”

Joe Vardon of The Athletic was the first to report that the Lakers star will have a full-length basketball court built on the set.

“Production begins this summer on ‘Space Jam 2,’ which stars LeBron and is set for a July 2021 release. This is not James’ first summer movie project; he filmed ‘Trainwreck’ in 2014 and the animated film ‘Smallfoot’ in 2017. Sources told The Athletic that a full-length basketball court would be built on the ‘Space Jam 2’ set for LeBron to train.”

LeBron had hard time finding basketball stars for the set. Many players are under contract with companies that have nothing to do with Nike. Klay Thompson will be around.

“Everybody thinks (Klay Thompson) is probably staying with the Warriors and I would agree with that,” Fox Sports’ Jason McIntyre said. “But I heard some news this week that could change things. That Klay Thompson is now ‘locked in’ to do ‘Space Jam 2.’”
