Patrick Beverley Addresses Lakers Rumors

Patrick Beverley is a perfect match for LeBron James. He is a successful three-point shooter and defender who doesn’t need the ball a lot. Beverley is able to set up a culture that his teammates follow. He was brilliant with the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers weren’t packed with talent, but had awesome chemistry and cohesion. They won 48 games and that’s not something you ignore.

Beverley is set to become unrestricted free agent at the end of the month. There are so many rumors regarding his future move, and let’s not forget that the Lakers lack guards. Is Beverley a nice fit? You can bet he is. The Clippers guard heard the rumors, and took to Twitter to share his opinion.

Beverley will probably join the team that offers the most money. However, he did admit that the Lakers are “a very exciting team.”

“Oh, for sure. Of course. You got Anthony Davis and LeBron James. They make themselves a very exciting team.”

This excitement won’t be enough for Beverley to secure his family’s future and earn a lot of money in the 2019-20 season. Is Jeanie Buss in the mood of spending that much money to get Beverley on her team?

The Lakers have five players on the roster, and they will have to play really smart this summer. They will probably go after veterans who are interested in winning a championship, but Beverley isn’t on that list.

Beverley has a history with the Lakers and LeBron. The Lakers selected him in the second round of the 2009 NBA Draft, but traded him away. He didn’t even get a chance to play a single game. The Miami Heat were interested in his rights, but Beverley played abroad for a year, and returned home. His first chance at making an NBA roster happened in 2010-11 and he was supposed to play alongside LeBron James. Well, it didn’t happen as the Heat waived him before the regular season.

Let’s just say that Beverley isn’t a fan of the Lakers. He even challenged Lonzo Ball prior to his debut and humiliated him in the first game. Ball scored just three points thanks to Beverley. Last season, he said the Clippers were the best team in LA.
