Video: The Moment The Patriots Received Super Bowl LIII Rings

The New England Patriots celebrated their Super Bowl LIII win Thursday night at the home of Robert Kraft, decked out in the team colors.

It was on this night that the team received their Super Bowl LIII championship rings. Kraft stepped to the microphone, began with a toast of champagne from various Ace of Spades bottled provided by rapper Jay-Z and then told his players and coaches to open the boxes in front of them to received their Super Bowl rings.

The video released by the official Patriots social media accounts shows various players celebrating and trying on their latest ring. Tom Brady can be seen holding up all six of his Super Bowl rings, while there was also the touching moment of Devin McCourty hugging his twin brother Jason McCourty, who received his first Super Bowl ring.

Thursday’s celebration was a full house of past and present Patriots as a lot made the trip back to Massachusetts for the festivities. Offseason departures like offensive tackle Trent Browns (Raiders), defensive end Trey Flowers (Lions) and wide receiver Chris Hogan (Panthers) were in attendance. Former Patriots defensive play-caller Brian Flores, who has since singed on to be the head coach of the Miami Dolphins, was in attendance as was tight end Rob Gronkowski, who announced his retirement earlier this offseason.

Their attendance is just one example how a championship can unify individuals forever, despite moving on to new spots throughout the league.

“It’s pretty special to be in this position and to accept a ring and to have that for the rest of your life,” Tom Brady said of receiving the Super Bowl rings and celebrating with his teammates earlier on Thursday following Patriots minicamp. “That’s something you’ll pass down to your kids. It means a lot, that 2018 team accomplished a lot. It’s a great night to celebrate. You’ll have these pictures for the rest of your life.”
