Steve Kerr Fears Warriors Practice Could Be Target… After Latest Massacres

The recent massacres in Dayton and El Paso sure ring the alarm, and Steve Kerr believes that a Warriors practice may be the next target.

If you ask the Warriors head coach, he will say that a gunman may walk into Warriors practice and start shooting at him and the team.

“I think about it all the time,” he said this week. “Somebody could walk in the door in the gym right now and start spraying us with an AR-15. They could. It might happen because we’re all vulnerable.”

In his sit-down interview with the Bay Area News Group, Kerr talked about his concerns after at least 31 people lost their lives in mass shootings over the weekend in Texas and Ohio.

Kerr doesn’t feel safe anywhere with all the violence around him. Even NBA gyms aren’t safe anymore.

“We’re all vulnerable,” he said, “whether we go to a concert, a church, the mall or go to the movie theater or a school.”

The head coach says there’s one way to solve the problem. Americans need to “demand change from the gutless leadership that continues to allow this to happen.”

He added that country leaders have to reevaluate the second amendment.

“The only thing that second amendment is doing is leading to mass murder right now. This is all just insanity.”

“People are more and more frustrated in our country. I think at this point, the vast majority of people in this country have had it. Now it’s a matter of taking action.”

Kerr always talks about social issues. He isn’t afraid to discuss politics, President Donald Trump or any other political issue.

“Kerr often uses his platform as an NBA coach to speak out about issues that are important to him” Ryan Young from Yahoo Sports wrote. “During the NBA Finals last season, Kerr even wore an orange and purple ‘Vote For Our Lives’ T-shirt to urge Americans to vote for leaders who will help create change regarding gun control, an issue the 53-year-old has long been passionate about.

“The fallout from Trump’s tweets isn’t likely to die down anytime soon. As that continues, it’s almost certain that Kerr — along with countless others in the sports world — will be paying close attention.”
