Julian Edelman Moans Patriots’ Layoff Before Game Vs. Jets In Instagram Post

Julian Edelman could really use some extra time off, because he needs to recover from the nasty injury he suffered in Week 3. The Patriots used him perfectly, and the receiver was of great help in the last three games. Phillip Dorsett and Josh Gordon are also injured, so the team relied on Edelman despite his chest injury. The same will happen in the game against the Jets.

Edelman caught 17 catches for 223 yards and a touchdown in the last two games.

The Patriots have enough time to rest for the game against the New York Jets. But, Edelman doesn’t like to have that much free time. He took to Instagram to share a photo of him, and the caption is hilarious.

“What do you mean we don’t get to play until next Monday?” he wrote.

We understand him. He is the greatest receiver out there. That’s what Tom Brady said.

“Well, for me, he’s a spectacular player,” the Patriots quarterback said in his weekly appearance on WEEI’s “Greg Hill Show.”  He’ll be in the Patriots Hall of Fame, and he could be a Pro Football Hall of Famer, too, at some point. What he’s done and what he’s accomplished is nothing short of spectacular. He’s a great teammate. He does all the dirty work. Not just his only spectacular performances — his ability to run routes, catch the ball, run after catch — but blocking, blocking for other guys. I think his day-to-day mentality really sets the tone for everybody.

“We put Julian in a situation to do all the toughest jobs, basically, and that’s what he relishes. And those things can’t go unnoticed, because when he’s not in there, you can see the difference it has on our offense. He does a lot of things that a lot of other players in the NFL can’t do, and he’s just a spectacular player.

“So that’s definitely a kind of a bogus vote, in my view, because he is a spectacular player — one of the greats in the NFL, no doubt.”

He said the same thing last week. Brady and Edelman have played together for a decade, and that sure means a lot. They share so many things together.

“He’s one of the best players in the history of the franchise,” TB12 said Monday on WEEI’s “Greg Hill Show.” When you think of some of the great receivers we’ve had, Julian is right up there at the top. So you’ve got to get him the ball, and he’s making a lot of yards with it in his hands. “We put a lot on Julian. Julian’s a very smart player. Very tough. He’s mentally, physically tough. What he’s gone through the last few weeks with his injury and then still just laying it on the line — you see even on that catch-and-run there in the third quarter, him kind of diving over the pile. He’s an incredible player, an incredible teammate, and the more we get him the ball, the better it is for our offense.”If you ask the coach, he will say that Edelman is the best receiver he has ever coached. We knew that, coach!
