Tom Brady Comments On Rob Gronkowski Decision To Return

Rob Gronkowski decided to call it career, and fans can’t stop talking about his possible return. Patriots owner Robert Kraft added fuel to the fire last week when he revealed that the tight end has yet to sign his retirement papers.

Unlike Kraft, quarterback Tom Brady decided to stay neutral, and he said that he won’t even try to affect Gronk’s decision to come back. Brady respects his friend and former teammate, and he knows what’s best for him.

Although Brady could really use Gronk at this moment, he said that he wouldn’t lobby for him to come back.

“I love that guy,” Brady said during his appearance on “The Greg Hill Show” Monday morning. “I’m so happy that he’s enjoying his time, his life. He seems to really be doing a lot of great things. He knows how I feel about him. I want what’s best for him. He’s the only person that can make those decisions. I don’t lobby for those things.”

Gronk had an incredible career with the Patriots, but his retirement doesn’t come as a surprise. He was in pain, and the game was no longer exciting. According to Brady, Gronk has different priorities now.

“I have a great relationship with him. He has given actually a hell of a lot to our team already over the course of a long period of time, and I think people should be very appreciative for what he’s brought to the team and what he’s brought to the region. I think he’s a very special guy. He’s just in a different phase of his life.”

The Patriots owner gave us the surprise of our lives when he revealed that Gronk hasn’t filed his retirement papers yet. Moreover, he said they still hope to have him back.

“We all love Gronk and I think the bottom line is, he hasn’t put his retirement papers in,” Kraft told NFL Network. “So we can always pray and hope. There is hope for us still with Gronk.”

Let’s see if Gronk decides to come back until Dec. 6. That’s the deadline for his return.
