Watch: Slow-Motion Replay of Patriots WR Josh Gordon’s Injury Looks Brutal

The New England Patriots are losing key players of their receiving corps. Phillip Dorsett doesn’t play against the New York Giants, and Josh Gordon got injured, too.

In the second quarter, the receiver had his legs caught under him on a brutal play that ended with a Giants defensive touchdown. There’s a slow-motion replay, and it looks horrible.

Gordon is a top target for Tom Brady, especially now that Antonio Brown is no longer a Patriot. We do hope that this injury isn’t as bad as it looks. However, Gordon is making his way to the locker room, and trainers will check up on him to see if he can return to the field. We are still waiting for an update.

These injuries came at the worst moment ever. Gordon is really happy with his role in the team, and this season is much better than 2018. The Patriots were the only team that wanted Gordon, and he really fits in their formula.

“It felt good. Good run game, good ball movement, once we started getting in that rhythm things started opening up. We wanted to finish strong, most importantly, finish every drive. I think we wore them down, kept the pace, kept the tempo going and then something changed. It was great.

“When we get to this juncture, it depends on how we want to see things develop. In the second half, we were able to start the run game up, get the guys going in the run game and with everything else – downfield blocking, offensive line. Tremendous effort.”

Last week, Gordon had an important role in the 33-7 win over the Redskins, but he says it was team effort.

“I guess that goes on [Head Coach Bill] Belichick, [Offensive Coordinator Josh] McDaniels, [QB] Tom [Brady], guys who see the field and they can make adjustments on the fly or second half adjustments, they kind of see it. See what the feel is for the defense, what we studied in practice, what has changed in the outcome of the game and making adjustments on the fly. We prepare for that each week and sometimes it works out.”
