Patriots Players Announce $450K In Grants To Benefit Five Social Justice Organizations

New England Patriots players confirmed that their Social Justice Fund will provide $450,000 in grants to five local organizations. These organizations have great contribution in the fight for social justice and equality. Each organization will receive $90,000 from the fund. The money was raided through player donations, and every dollar donated was matched by Kraft. The remaining balance in the fund will be used to help individuals in need of help.

For the past six decades, Patriots players have been ambassadors in their community. They donate time and money to improve the life of others. Players have used their career and private life as a platform to raise awareness for different causes. The social justice fund was formed in 2018 to provide support for organizations that try to reduce barriers to opportunity in education, economic development, police relations and criminal justice. Resources donated to the fund in 2018 were delivered to five local organizations last December.

“There are many organizations that do amazing work in the area of social justice,” said Patriots team captain Devin McCourty. “As individuals, there is a lot we can do to assist. But, if there is anything football teaches us, it’s that we can accomplish much more collectively as a team. The goal of the social justice fund is to work together as a team to help effect change in our community by providing support to these organizations. The more you learn about the work they are doing, the more you want to support their efforts.”

In 2019, five different organizations were selected. Their missions are linked to areas of big concern to Patriots players. The players called each organization to inform them that they will receive $90,000. Since December 2018, New England has donated $900,000 to the players’ social justice fund to support local organizations.
