Update Emerges On Patriots’ WR Phillip Dorsett’s Status For Cowboys Game

The Patriots are going into this game against the Dallas Cowboys with a long list of injured players. This is never good news but the timing makes it even worse. The Cowboys will be fired up to play and will give New England their best shot.

At one point this week, it was questionable as to whether quarterback Tom Brady would even play. Even though it looks like he will, not everyone was so lucky.

Wide receiver Phillip Dorsett is one of those injured players. He was questionable throughout the week and there is not an update. It looks like it is going to be bad news for New England.

With Mohamed Sanu out as well, it looks like it might be a tough day for wide receivers. This leaves Brady with very few options down the field. Only Edelman, Jakobi Meyers and N’Keal Harr will be suited up to play, as it stands now.

This means that it is more than likely the Patriots will use a run-heavy playbook against the Cowboys. Head coach of Bill Belichick had a humorous quote when asked how he would cope with his injured players.

“I’m not going to sit here and try to Ouija board it this morning,” he said during his news conference Friday morning.

Maybe that’s what he needs to do at this point, otherwise, it might be a tough road ahead for New England. At least Brady is looking more and more like he will be able to play. At the beginning of the week he was listed as questionable with an injury to his right elbow.

Here is the full list of injuries for both squads:

  • Patriots: QB Tom Brady (right elbow), RB Damien Harris (hamstring), WR Mohamed Sanu (ankle), WR Phillip Dorsett (concussion), WR Julian Edelman (shoulder), WR Matthew Slater (hamstring), OT Marcus Cannon (illness), DE John Simon (elbow), LB Ja’Whaun Bentley (knee), CB Jason McCourty (groin), S Patrick Chung (heel/chest), S Nate Ebner (ankle/back)
  • Cowboys: G Connor Williams (knee),LB Joe Thomas (illness), S Donovan Wilson (illness)

Hopefully both teams can stay healthy enough to have a competitive game.
