Tom Brady Calls Out Patriots Doubters For Making Big Deal Of Spygate 2.0′

The Cincinnati Bengals rang the alarm a couple weeks ago. The team complained about the Patriots’ cameraman who was recording their sideline in Cleveland. Cincinnati was playing the Browns, and the cameraman was recording segments of the Patriots’ opponent. New England was accused of videotaping the sideline, and the NFL bans any similar activity. The Patriots organization said their filming crew had nothing to do with the football operations, and they even suspended the cameraman. Now we have Tom Brady blasting those who keep talking about Spygate 2.0.

Brady is absolutely right. His team is in no way related to the production department of the Patriots organization. His teammates were getting ready for the next game, and recording someone’s sideline was not even an option. New England has already been involved in anything similar, and they know the consequences of these activities. The team lost draft picks and a lot of money in 2008, and it’s more than obvious that they’d never go through the same thing again.

Head coach Bill Belichick discussed the incident right after it broke, noting that his players only watch the videos released on TV. The organization released an official statement, too. According to this statement, the cameraman wasn’t aware of the rules the league set to prevent activities like this. The team acknowledged their responsibility, but also noted that the players were in no way related to the crew in Cleveland.

Brady agrees on this one, but doesn’t really want to talk about the controversy. During his weekly appearance on Westwood One’s Jim Gray, TB12 called out the critics who tried to make a huge scandal.

“I’ve put it out of my mind,” Brady said Monday night. “I’ve not thought about it since I heard about it. I think a lot of people are making a lot of nothing. We are thinking about other things. We’re trying to focus on winning games. As a player, my job is to go out there and do the best I can do and eliminate as many distractions. A lot of people are trying to make this a distraction for us and we’re not going to allow that to happen.”

New England doesn’t need someone to videotape their opponents’ sideline. They have all the talent in this world to win games.
