Robert Kraft May Face Felony Charge In Asian-Spa Case

Patriots owner Robert Kraft was caught in the middle of a huge scandal. Kraft could have faced a felony charge and up to five years in jail. The prostitution case was the least expected scenario for the organization. Florida prosecutors opened a few topics in the latest court filling.

In court papers filed last week, Florida prosecutors said that Kraft may have committed a third-degree felony. The Patriots owner was arrested in February and hit with two misdemeanor counts of soliciting another person to commit prostitution at a Jupiter massage parlor.

Kraft pleaded not guilty, and apologized to everyone for the problems the scandal may have caused.

A judge rejected the video evidence taken from Orchids of Asia Day Spa in May. Palm Beach County Judge Joseph Marx ruled that Florida prosecutors can’t use the videos from the day spa as evidence in the trials against two masseuses.

Lei Wang, 40, and Hua Zhang, 58, face several charges after they were taped offering sexual services to clients at the day spa. The Patriots owner was a client of the day spa. Both masseuses have pleaded not guilty.

The ruling to throw out the video evidence came after another judge ruled  the alleged video was inadmissible in Kraft’s case.

Marx sided with Palm Beach County Judge Leonard Hanser who is presiding over the Patriots owner’s legal proceedings. The judges said police officers didn’t try really well to protect innocent customers at the day spa. They pointed out that the warrant to install cameras in the day spa didn’t have any instructions on how to minimize surveilling legitimate massages.

The whole case attracted negative backlash, and the Patriots owner made headlines a few months ago. His case was sealed, but Florida prosecutors won’t give up without a good fight. It looks like the whole thing will be brought in court again. How will the Patriots owner react to this? Hopefully, this case won’t affect the team. New England has another problem at the moment. Spygate 2.0 is still here, and the NFL has yet to make a decision on the Patriots’ scandal.
