NFL Mock Draft Makes Bold Prediction About Patriots Picking QB As Tom Brady’s Successor

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will make one of the most important decisions of his life in March. Everything depends on this decision, including the Patriots’ chances to win a Super Bowl in 2020. Head coach Bill Belichick is ready to move on, and it looks like he got over the idea of being out of the playoff run. Brady will have to leave the team at some point, and the Patriots will have to think of a solution. According to one sports media outlet, New England will draft Brady’s successor in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Will the Patriots nation like the new choice?

Ryan Wilson from CBS Sports says the Patriots will select Utah State quarterback Jordan love as a No. 23 pick in the first round. This is Wilson’s choice for his NFL Mock Draft. Wilson has four other quarterbacks being picked in the first round. LSU’s Joe Burrow, Alabama’s Tue Tagovailoa, Oregon’s Justin Herbert and Love.

“Josh McDaniels is back, and assuming Tom Brady returns at 43 years old, the Patriots’ QB situation will be set for 2020, and possibly 2021 too,” Wilson wrote Tuesday. “This is perfect news for Jordan Love, who is as raw as they come but has the type of physical attributes that have drawn comparisons to Patrick Mahomes. He needs time to learn by watching and what better place than New England (assuming Brady finally plans on retiring in a couple years)?”

Love was active 12 games as a freshman and 13 in both his sophomore and junior years. The quarterback recorded a 61.2 percent completion percentage (689-for-1125) in his career while hitting 8,600 yards and 60 career touchdowns.

Well, he did not have a strong statistical season in 2019. His game was much better in 2018. Love had a lower completion percentage, fewer passing yards and he turned the ball over at a higher rate (17 interceptions in 2019 after six in 2018).

Will the Patriots make a good choice this spring? They will have to play smart with their picks. Hopefully, Brady will be around for a few more seasons. They need him to win a Super Bowl.
