Watch: GMC Hummer EV Drops Incredible Ad Featuring LeBron James

GM brought back the Hummer piece, and they did it with a big Super Bowl 2020 ad. It’s a brand new electric Hummer, and fans love the design. The GMC Hummer EV is designed to reboot the reputation of the truck, and LeBron James supports the process. The truck wasn’t considered eco-friendly, and the company decided to change it.

The new Hummer EV’s Super Bowl commercial relies on this change, and it features the Lakers superstar. It aired during Sunday’s game, and teases the contrast between great performance and features common in electric vehicles.

LeBron loves the new GMC Hummer EV piece

Customers will get 1,000 horsepower and 0-60 mph in 3 seconds. “GMC is hyping up its 11,500 lb-ft of torque number, too, though that’s expected to be at the axle, so higher than the actual motor torque.” In other words, customers won’t get a slow truck.

Older Hummer models have V8 engines that aren’t really quiet. Unlike these models, the new Hummer triggers a “Quiet Revolution.” That’s the name GMC uses for the advert.

“The spot highlights the anticipated performance of GMC’s all-electric super truck,” the company says, “which will generate remarkable metrics in terms of horsepower, torque and acceleration while providing incredible on- and off-road capability. All of this is combined with the vastly reduced noise and zero emissions inherent in the operation of an electric vehicle.”

When it comes to LeBron, he already has a history with the brand. He had a 2003 Hummer H2 in high school. Every magazine wrote about it. He drove a customized vehicle with white finish and huge chromed wheels. LeBron wanted to sell the car last year, but it didn’t hit the $50,000 reserve. King James talked about his love for Hummer in a behind-the-scenes video for GMC.

The new vehicle is a lot different than the vehicle LeBron has. GMC doesn’t reveal much about the design and specifications. However, Hummer lovers expect the good ol’ “chunky styling” and great on-road presence. GMC will reveal more about the new vehicle on May 20, 2020. Hopefully, we will get more details about the price, battery size and range. It’s time for a big game!
