Josh McDaniels Met With Rookie Quarterback At The NFL Scouting Combine

The New England Patriots are all-in when it comes to making changes. The team missed the chance to win a Super Bowl this season. This leaves a lot of room for improvement. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady may leave the team in free agency. This will give the team big trouble. They are already working on fixing the roster. Josh McDaniels met with a rookie quarterback at the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine.

The front office is trying to keep an eye on rookie quarterbacks. Justin Herbert out of Oregon is the most common name analysts mention these days.

Josh McDaniels has a rookie quarterback on his list

The 6-foot-6 senior is often compared to Carson Wentz. Justin has one of the best arms in the 2020 draft. There are two topics analysts are worried about. His consistency and accuracy. Will the Patriots get over this issue?

According to NFL insider Peter King, Herbert and McDaniels met at the combine.

“That’s a guy I’ve always watched, always looked up to,” the quarterback told King when asked about his meeting with the Patriots’ offensive coordinator. “I love their offense.”

We don’t know where will go in the upcoming April draft. This remains to be seen. According to some predictions, he is a top-10 pick. ESPN’s Todd McShay and a few others put him in the middle of the first round.

NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah put Herbert in the latter part of the first round, with the Patriots adding him with as a 23rd pick.

Does this mean that the Patriots are getting ready for a future without Brady? The quarterback is set to hit the open market for the first time in his professional career. Brady has never been in a similar situation. This gives both him and the Patriots quarterback enough chance to explore the market.

Will Brady be interested in signing a contract with another team? He has spent his entire career with the Patriots. Maybe he will be interested in staying “home.” New England is his second home. Everyone hopes to see him back at Gillette Stadium.
